Braves on TV

So we haven't discussed the viewing options for the Braves this year.

Is it still cable and ????

I think I used Directv Stream to finally catch some games later on in the year.

Cable is so freaking expensive these days, but if you are in the Braves blackout area I'm not sure what other options there are.

I'm on the west coast so I have to go with MLB.tv. I'm a bit shocked at the price this year, 129.99 for a limited time. Was it this expensive last year? Feels like they are getting greedy. Last year I paid by the month but don't see that option now.

Yea, I do mlbtv too and I get the one team only option which is cheaper. I barely have time to watch the Braves 3 hour games so paying for the 30 team subscription makes no sense for me.

I'll probably ruin this for myself, but I split an MLB.tv subscription with a couple friends who are fans of different teams. One of them is a Pirates fan, so he stops watching games by May anyways. The other is a Cubs fan, but we've never run into issues watching games at the same time. Ultimately we each end up paying something like $40/year usually.

I finally cut the cord after DirecTV yet again raised their prices. I thought about DirecTV Stream, but they’re expensive too. Still would cost me about $100. I’ve got YouTube TV right now, so at the moment, I might be listening to more Braves games than watching

You should had threaten to cancel. Directv is notorious for giving discounts. They gave me $60 off for 12 months. I’m paying $38 a month for directv.

CUPERTINO, CALIFORNIA Apple and Major League Baseball (MLB) today announced “Friday Night Baseball,” a weekly doubleheader with live pre- and postgame shows that will be available to fans in eight countries exclusively on Apple TV+ as soon as the regular season begins.
In addition to “Friday Night Baseball,” fans in the US will be able to enjoy “MLB Big Inning,” a live show featuring highlights and look-ins airing every weeknight during the regular season. Baseball fans in the US and Canada will also have access to a new 24/7 livestream with MLB game replays, news and analysis, highlights, classic games, and more, as well as a full complement of on-demand programming, including highlights and MLB-themed original content.

I've use MLBTV but live in NC. So it's really frustrating to pay and then have 19 nationals games blacked out. Can't get nationals feed b/c they aren't on any packages locally.

New schedule should decrease the number of nationals games, right? But now we will have games blacked out on Apple TV.

it still baffles me why a sport can be so self destructive. From labor agreements to availability of games on tv... It is like we have a commisioner who doesn't have the interest of the game and fans over padding his own wallet.

I had the same issue when I lived in NC. Drove me crazy.

I'll also say that you can find virtually any sporting event streamed online for free these days if you're willing to look. I've never been unable to find a game with a little searching on Reddit.

Really ridiculous here (NC) - I'm 4 and 1/2 hours from the park (took over 5 to get there for Game 5 of the Series), and I'm considered an "in-market" customer? Can get to the place my folks have vacationed in Florida for 20 years in about 30 minutes more than it takes me to get to Truist Park.

Forgive me, I just realized you are in WNC as well. The Nebo/Lake James exit on I40 West is my favorite spot because it’s my first good look at the mountains.

Topic wise, I have YouTube TV: No Bally Bravos for me! I might keep MLB.TV (I usually sign up toward the middle of the season) just for the game replays.

I live about three miles from that exit - grew up here playing golf on the course that borders Lake James before playing in college and spending several years away as a golf professional in Myrtle Beach/Charleston/etc..

Back on topic as well - LOVE YTTV, but it looks like I'll be going back to DirecTV Stream tomorrow. I get the gripes about it being expensive, but the only other option in this area is switching to cable and there's no way I'm going back to cords and boxes - the local cable provider was taken over by an outfit out of NY/NJ this winter and they don't offer an app so I can switch easily - especially after just having finished moving my 65" screen and mounting it in the mancave and adding an 85" screen on the living room wall.
