Article says Dr. Meredith Wills collected samples of 204 baseballs from this past season. Found that there were some "dead balls" that MLB said they were going to be using, "Juiced balls" , and then ones they called "goldielocks" which were half way between the dead balls and juiced balls.

Article also states that the Yankees may have benefited from it by mlb sending them the "goldilocks" baseballs during Judges run for 62 HR, where MLB cut into every one of his at bats.

Yup. MLB sanctioned cheating for all the homerun chases. Wouldn't be surprised if the Cards had something similar with Pujols getting close to 700.

Is the "dead balls" why we saw instances of players who hit balls with perfect exit velocity and launch angle and they couldn't believe they weren't home runs? And then the announcers say the ball is not carrying that night.

I can't stand goodell, but he is light years ahead of manFred in marketing.

And people here make fun of Chip for getting excited off a flyball off the bat.

He knew the exit velo and launch angle were good enough for a homer too yet it ends up being a fly to shallow right center.
