I think McCabe and Quintero are decent prospects
I'm the low man on Quintero. He's so-so. Diminutive prospects not named Ozzie better have a loud tool somewhere. To me, he has some bat skills, but his fielding is atrocious. OK, not great. Some athleticism...not otherworldly, but ok. He's just ok I guess is the rub. McCabe, I like. Can be average or better..he's got a chance.

I guess I'm just saying the contact hitters philosophy ain't working..lol. The system top to bottom leads the free world in strikeouts. Braves are due an influx of position players.

I don’t think either will be stars or anything. But there is useful major league potential there best case scenario

Soroka's next start with Triple-A Gwinnett has been pushed back from Tuesday to Sunday, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

It has nothing to do with injury. Rather, it's part of Atlanta's plan to skip some of Soroka's starts this season as a way to limit his workload following so much missed time.

Another good night for Seth Keller: 4 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 4 K.

On the season, he’s now 10 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 9 K.

He was our sixth rounder last year out of high school. Athletic kid, was a good two-way guy in high school. I watched his last outing and he was only 90-92 mph. He’s listed at 5-10, 180 pounds so not sure how much physical projection is left, but he’s off to a good start at Augusta.

From Fangraphs on prospect updates:

In non-Reds/Top 100 tweaks, Braves righty Jared Johnson has touched 99 mph in the time since our Braves prospect list published, so he’s been pushed to their list (he was previously an honorable mention) and has an updated report on The Board

Really enjoyed seeing those low BB averages in the first month or so. Usually we are begging guys to get it down as they progress.

Big-time spin rates is what I read on Keller when the Braves drafted him.

We have legit pitching prospects we just need the hitting to pick up.
Been watching Tavarez intently. He can pick it at short. Very smooth actions and believe it or not, he's not completely lost at the plate. Still unsure as heck though and a baby. If I'm correct he skipped any short season ball which is uncanny. I'm sure he was at their instructional camp, but either way....I love his actions at SS.

AJ Smith-Shawver so far this year: 19 IP, 7 H, 0 R, 5 BB, 29 K.

It certainly looks like he’s making the leap we were all hoping for.

Deets - on Tavarez- keep us posted ! Would love to see the next Andrelton coming along !
Not asking too much … :)
