The Coronavirus, not the beer

And if they don’t want to do it that’s there God given right. But that also means we shouldn’t shut down the economy or bear the burden of their health care costs.

Laziness and selfishness is not the determining factor in all this, and I think you actually know that. I don't know. Maybe not. Also...do you think people in poverty aren't bearing the burden of what it takes for many to live well? The least you all could do is bear the burden of healthcare, along with the rest of us.

Keep in mind, you're talking to thethe. Someone who lives in his own world.

Noe one considers people who're overweight because they work 60+ hour weeks at minimum wage jobs. And countless other things

I’m a story of first generation American with a single parent that worked 16 hours a day driving a cab and now I have more than I could ever have dreamed of. Nobody is bearing my burden and most could have made their lives better with minimal work in addition to what they are doing.

History shows this probably ages poorly.

But are those studies with a country as readily developed as the US is?

Poor states have more obesity.

Poor states have more teen age pregnancies.

Poor states have higher rates of incarceration.

Poor states have higher rates of suicide.

These are complicated problems. It would be wrong to reduce it to poverty. There are deep cultural roots that contribute to poverty and these social pathologies. But reduce poverty and you will make a dent in the pathologies.

I'm not saying that this will eliminate the pathologies. We will still have all the rich obese people. That's another issue.

Oh and it's not down to race. There are poor states with relatively low minority populations but plenty of all of these social pathologies. West Virginia. Arkansas. Oklahoma. Upstate New York. Most of Pennsylvania outside of the Philly and Pittsburgh metropolitan areas. The rural counties of Northern Maine.

Sounds like something you would call anecdotal bull****.

No it’s a story that with hard work you can do anything.

I could easily one of those poor sob stories that complains about not growing up with money. Just like fat people pretending they can’t change their lives.

We all know a small subset has other issues and it should be obvious nobody is referencing them. We just disagree on what that percentage is.

Leftists hate stories like this

Working a job and long hours does not make you obese

Stress is absolutely a factor. There are also other elements to what he is saying. People can absolutely do things to help themselves with this issue, all of them most likely, and I would wager many if not the majority are trying to do just that (or are). The fact is, doing those things isn't the whole of the answer to this problem. It is just a small part. There is nothing wrong with acknowledging that and accounting for it.

"With hard work you can do anything" sounds wonderful. It's no longer true. It's just not. It's ****ing ignorant to continue marching on ignoring reality in regards to that. Also, do we have any obese people in here right now? I'm curious to get their point of view on this. I wouldn't blame you if you didn't want to expose yourself to the bigotry, but thought I would throw it out there just in case.

"hard data" when thethe does it

Right? It would be hilarious if it was still ten years ago. It's just ****ing tiring now. At least his dreadful takes on the Braves came from a place of love. I always enjoyed his optimism in that regard. This ****, though, is just ugly.

This is the most absurd thing you’ve ever said

There are limitless resources now to enhance yourself and make yourself more valueable. It’s actually never been more true with hard work you can achieve anything.

It’s just loser think to feel otherwise.

Eddie Hall 100% exercises more than 30 min a day . Wtf are you talking about

https://jackedgorilla.com/eddie-hall-workout-routine/

Here's you

Here's the point.

You missed it.

Eddie Hall, Charity Witt, Oleksii NOvikov, etc. work out countless hours a day, when they're lifting to gain muscle they consume excessive amounts of calories so theire muscles recover and theycan lift more.

Look at every single olympic lifter, they're all fat because it's what they do not because they're not exercising for 30 minutes a day.

Exercise and obesity are not equal lines.

Exercise can increase your BMR, which can lead to weight loss. But it's not anywhere near as simple as thethe is implying that some people are fat because they're not trying.

I'll go back to football. Playing football we had 3 2 hour practices a week, game time, and a walk through, and at the time I had a paper route which meant every day I was biking for about 20 minutes a day. At my peak I could bench 250+ Squat 350+ and deadlift 400+, and I was obese. It was because I was consuming a ton of calories. Did I need to? Probably not. Especially because a lot of the calories i consumed were liquid. So I know the reality was I didn't need to be fat, but I didn't know better at the time. And I knew people that exercised way way way less than I ddi and ate a ton who were skinny. And

Lazy. Selfish. Loser. It goes on and on. I've worked a full-time job since I was 15. The only reason I've climbed out of poverty is because I'm good at poker and have a talent for writing. 2 and 3 generations ago, all you had to do is work yourself out of the hole you put yourself in. Sometimes the hole your parents put you in. Now? There are huge swaths of the country still trying to work their way out of the hole their grandparents put them in. WV is a case ****ing study on that one. Hard work does not always fix those situations, at least not in one generation. These are problems that took generations to form, and you want to act like everything is still new and fresh and a blank slate at birth for everyone. It's not true.
