International Prospect Signing Rumors

I've been trying to find basically anything on Wilber Cruz, our rumored 2025 top signing. I found this video of him from 2021: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-xtfiekJ7vs.

Keep in mind that he's probably 12-13 years old in this video, so you can't tell anything meaningful at all. But this is really all I can find on him. Hopefully we'll get more info at some point throughout the year.

More on Sena - Baseball America had a writeup today on some of the top 2026/2027 signees in the Dominican recently.

"Dominican shortstop Alfredo Sena (Braves, eligible to sign Jan. 15, 2027) should get one of the biggest bonuses in his class and was the star of the tournament, leading the Dominican team in nearly every statistical category, including three home runs, one of which was a walkoff homer in extra innings to beat Panama. The mix of lefthanded hitting ability, consistent quality at-bats and power was extremely impressive."

Here's a video with a lot of Sena's swings in the tournament. Hard to believe he won't be old enough to sign for 2.5 years.

Ben Badler put out an article today about the top 2025 prospects and where they're signing. It was previously reported that Wilber Cruz was our top 2025 signee. He wasn't listed in Badler's article, but he lists us as the team that will sign Cuban OF Diego Tornes, who he lists as a top prospect in the class.

So either Cruz isn't as good as was previously reported and we're signing Cruz and Tornes, or something happened with Cruz and he's going elsewhere. I lean towards the first option since Cruz wasn't listed anywhere by Badler.
